As an established designer with a thriving Santa Monica, California-based practice, Vanessa has earned the respect of her clients, the design community and the media. Her diverse expertise working in both residential and commercial interiors, combined with knowledge culled from practicing real estate for more than 7 years in the celebrity enclaves of Los Angeles, has made her a consummate in-demand talent.

Born, but not entirely raised, in Miami by her British mum and Canadian father, Vanessa enjoyed many cultural journeys around the globe at an early age. Travel was then and still is a central source of inspiration and is responsible for much of the aptitude and diversity in the design styles she is known for today. Vanessa’s keen appreciation for the history of design, modalities and movements in all eras gives her the foundation to approach each room as a singular piece of art.

“There is an art to creating bespoke spaces,” says Schreiber.  “The aesthetic a designer brings to a project should have an authentic voice – it should make a statement but also be in tune with its origins, architecture and inhabitants.”

Vanessa Schreiber has been consistently designing since she received her degree in 2007 from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Downtown Los Angeles. She began her studies at the New York School of Interior Design (NYSID). While in New York she worked at Holland and Sherry in the Decoration & Design Building (D&D) working in high end showrooms and assisting top designers.

Attention to detail, psychology of color, knowledge of materials and texture, use of scale, lighting and space planning are some of the many integral elements used by Vanessa and her team. But Vanessa’s unique “eye for design” and bespoke style cannot be taught. It’s a creative confidence that allows her to take chances based on instinct alone. Whether designing a corporate office, Venice Beach Loft or a Beverly Park estate, Vanessa Schreiber Design brings the grace, elegance and originality to that sets her firm’s projects apart.

“The emotional and visual process of playing with dimension, texture and scale creates a sense of drama that really makes interiors an extension of the people who live in them. This is what design is about.”
